About the Project
We are supporting a rapidly-growing AI-driven software company that transforms large volumes of customer feedback into strategic, actionable insights. The team is building a high-scale analytics application powered by modern backend architectures and emerging LLM capabilities. This role will lead the development of core application components, collaborating closely with product, platform and AI teams to design, evolve and scale backend systems used across the entire product experience. You will have significant ownership in architectural decisions, reliability, performance and quality of the application layer.
Role and Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, development and maintenance of core backend services for a data-intensive analytics application.
- Build and operate synchronous and asynchronous APIs, distributed workflows and high-performance services.
- Collaborate with product managers and cross-functional engineering teams to rapidly design and iterate on new features.
- Ensure application reliability, observability, performance tuning, caching strategies and SQL database optimization.
- Deploy, monitor and scale backend services within a cloud-native environment using modern infra-as-code and DevOps practices.
- Guide technical decisions, mentor engineers and contribute to engineering best practices and long-term system design.
- Work with or support the integration of LLM-powered features within the application (agents, assistants, intelligent data exploration).
What We’re Looking For
Must-Haves:
- Very Clear Communication in English
- Strong hands-on experience with Go. Experience with Python for backend systems is also relevant
- Experience building and maintaining async/sync APIs and distributed workflows.
- Proven experience in data or analytics-oriented applications.
- Solid understanding of SQL databases, caching, performance tuning and backend optimisation.
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), monitoring tools and best practices for production services.
- Comfort with LLM-powered applications — or strong motivation to learn rapidly.
- Ability to lead projects, drive architectural decisions and mentor engineers. Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience with search technologies such as ElasticSearch.
- Experience with cloud platforms (GCP preferred), Kubernetes and scalable distributed systems.
- Background in high-growth startups or high-ownership engineering environments.
- Exposure to AI/ML or LLM-based workflows integrated into backend applications.
