About the Role
We are looking for a QA Engineer to own quality assurance across modern web and mobile applications. This is a hands-on role focused primarily on manual testing while helping establish scalable QA processes and laying the foundation for increased test automation over time. You'll work closely with software engineers, product managers, designers, and data teams to validate new features, uncover edge cases, improve release confidence, and ensure customers receive a reliable, high-quality product experience. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about software quality, with the ability to think critically about user behavior and complex application workflows.
Role and Responsibilities
- Design, document, and execute comprehensive test plans for new product features and releases.
- Perform manual testing across modern web and mobile applications.
- Identify, reproduce, document, and track software defects with clear reproduction steps.
- Execute regression testing to ensure existing functionality remains stable as new features are introduced.
- Validate bug fixes before production releases.
- Perform cross-platform testing across browsers, operating systems, and mobile devices.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams throughout the development lifecycle to improve software quality.
- Create and maintain test cases, testing documentation, and QA checklists.
- Participate in sprint planning by identifying testing scope, risks, and quality considerations.
- Track quality metrics and contribute to continuous improvements in QA processes.
- Identify opportunities for test automation and collaborate with engineers on automation initiatives.
- Maintain testing environments and test datasets required for validation.
What We're Looking For
Must-Haves
- B2/C1 English level
- 2+ years of experience as a QA Engineer or Software Test Engineer
- Strong experience performing manual testing for web applications
- Experience testing mobile applications (iOS and Android)
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and QA methodologies
- Experience writing detailed test plans, test cases, and bug reports
- Experience with issue tracking systems such as Jira, Linear, or similar
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to identify edge cases and validate complex user workflows
- Comfortable working closely with cross-functional engineering teams
- Availability for at least 4 hours of overlap with US Eastern Time
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium
- Experience testing React Native applications
- Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman or Insomnia
- SQL knowledge for validating application data
- Experience working in early-stage startups or fast-paced product companies
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices
- ISTQB certification or similar QA certification
- Interest in AI-powered software products and modern SaaS platforms
